Makayla A, Grade 8 Makayla is a kind, respectful and welcoming student who gets along with everyone. She is always greeting his teachers “good morning” and “have a good day.” She has worked extremely hard and put in great effort in completing all her academic tasks and responsibilities, with great detail and creativity. During the course of the school year, she baked goodies and treats for her classmates, because she simply “wanted to.” She has exemplified the Student Learning Expectation of “Being Like Jesus” all year long. Jeslyn J, Grade 7 This student gets along well with her peers (and her brother) and tries to be helpful whenever possible. She displays the characteristics of the SLE Be Like Jesus through her kindness, friendly manner, and helpfulness. Bayleigh R, Grade 6 This student is a Religion Officer in our Student Council this year, helping with reading the Gospel during morning broadcast and leading "One Minute with Jesus." In the last couple of months, she has become an altar server at the Saturday afternoon Mass. Thank you for being a good example of a Holy Angels student by "Being Like Jesus." Franchescka D, Grade 5 Franchescka is a very kind, friendly and respectful student who gets along with everyone. She is very sensitive to the needs of others and always offers help. She demonstrates the SLE "Be Like Jesus." Cyleigh E, Grade 6 Like Jesus, humble in spirit, this 4th grade student quietly shows the importance of helping others and being respectful. She often has a smile on her face that gives others a joyous feeling. She also has a great attitude towards her classwork and responsibilities. Adrian D, Grade 3 Adrian's good moral compass shined a light in the 3rd grade classroom in May. He exemplified Being Like Jesus by teaching others the right thing to do and by leading by example. I'm proud of all he's accomplished this month, and I'm excited for his growth in 4th grade. Thanks Adrian for the good vibes and for setting a good example. Aria S, Grade 2 Aria is a kind-hearted person. She is developing into one of the responsible students in shouldering her actions in class and on the playground. She is trying her best to do better academically. She demonstrates the Student Learning Expectation “Be Like Jesus.” Desmond A, Grade 1 Desmond is a kind, loving, caring, and giving student. He is always willing to lend someone a hand when needed. He also completes the work he is assigned and turns it in on time. He is well mannered, quietly respectful, driven to do his best and sets a great example for other students. Desmond demonstrates the Student Learning Expectation “Be Like Jesus.” Mila P, TK/K Mila demonstrates the student learning expectation Be Like Jesus every day when she prays quietly and with sincerity. She is also kind and caring with her classmates. Mila also has been trying very hard to complete her work with quality and to remain focused on her tasks throughout the day. Congratulations to 5th grader Destiny Caicedo and 4th grader Zac Fulgencio who are the state winners of the 2022-23 Knights of Columbus California Substance Abuse Awareness Posters Contest. Grand Knight Ted Cordano presented the students with their awards at Holy Angels School this week. These awards were recently presented to Mr. Cordano at the Knights of Columbus State Annual Meeting held May 18-20.

Jasmine P - Grade 8 8th Grade’s SLE award recipient is a very respectful young lady who gets along with all her peers. She is always willing to lend a helping hand around the classroom; in addition, she often uses the magic words of “Thank you,” along with always greeting others “hello” and “good morning.” She is the epitome of someone who always is “Like Jesus” through her welcoming words and actions. Ryann T - Grade 7 Ryann demonstrates the characteristics of the SLE - Be Like Jesus. She is kind, respectful and helpful towards students and teachers alike. As a school technology officer she shows great responsibility in completing her duties. Maria Sofia E - Grade 6 Sofia shows love and compassion to her classmates and teachers by being kind, empathetic, and helpful. Jesus was a person of humility, never seeking to elevate Himself above others. This student practices humility by listening to others, admitting her mistakes, and is willing to learn from others. Keep up your example of “Being Like Jesus!” Lucas A - Grade 5 Lucas demonstrates the Student Learning Expectation “Be Like Jesus” by being kind and friendly to all his classmates and other students in school. He loves to volunteer around the classroom and improve his cursive handwriting. Sheldon W - Grade 4 Following the teachings of Jesus, this student is a good role model of how we should show respect to others and embrace cultural differences. He participates and shares his ideas during our morning reflections and does not hesitate to help other classmates and teachers when needed. In a quiet and humble manner, he has done a wonderful job as class representative this year serving in our school community and showing others how to “Be Like Jesus”. Jaedyn MR - Grade 3 Jaedyn is a wonderful friend to everyone in class. She exemplifies Being Like Jesus in the way she cares for her classmates and teacher. She gives her time, energy, and love to everyone, and if you know her, you’ll know that her energy can bring a bright smile to your face. Jaedyn, thank you for bringing joy and love to everyone you meet and bringing us all closer to Jesus with the kindness you share each day. Austin CL - Grade 2 Austin is a quiet and respectful student who embodies the Student Learning Expectation Be Like Jesus. He prays quietly and sincerely, is kind to his classmates, and always strives to do his best academically. Genesis E - Grade 1 Genesis is a polite, respectful, and hardworking student. She works conscientiously and diligently and always strives to do her best. She is always eager to learn and has excellent participation in class. Jin Lucas L - Kindergarten Lucas demonstrates the student learning expectation Be Like Jesus every day when he prays quietly and with sincerity. He is also kind and caring with his classmates. Lucas also has been trying very hard to complete his work with quality and to remain focused on his tasks throughout the day. Charles R, Jr. - Preschool Charles Jr. demonstrates the student learning expectation Be Like Jesus by caring for the needs of his classmates. Michael consistently displays the Student Learning Expectation “Be Like Jesus” by always showing kindness and respect toward all his peers. He is a conscientious, hard-working student, who consistently submits all his assignments on time and with great quality. His daily task of putting up and taking down the flag is also done faithfully. It is wonderful having him part of our 8th grade class this year! Ezekiel S. - Grade 7 Ezekiel exemplifies the SLE Be Like Jesus. In the recent Lenten presentation of Stations of the Cross, he portrayed Jesus with seriousness and utmost respect. In doing so he proved to be a role model for fellow classmates and younger students alike. Along with the class, he helped provide a spiritual, reflective Lenten experience. Penelope P - Grade 6 Penelope has taken great strides in trying to Be Like Jesus. She is compassionate and caring to all. In addition, she has mastered her time-management skills in completing any school assignments during the day, and then is free to help others, including teachers when needed. Her effervescent personality makes her such a pleasure to have in the classroom. Destiny C - Grade 5 Destiny demonstrates the student learning expectation Be Like Jesus. She is friendly, considerate and helpful to her classmates. She also works hard on improving her effort, focusing on her studies and submitting her work on time. Keep it up, Destiny! We are so proud of you! Sara L - Grade 4 This caring and polite student demonstrates our SLE “Be Like Jesus” by making good choices and encouraging others to make good choices, too. She does her best to be a responsible class advocate looking out for others. She demonstrates good behavior when we attend Mass or when we say the daily Rosary, always responding and participating, and showing her love for Jesus. Dylan B - Grade 3 Dylan has been extremely helpful this month. As we started to ramp up our Chromebook usage in class, she has been a huge help in distributing and organizing the Chromebooks for her classmates. She does it without anyone asking and is eager to help. She’s helpful to her classmates in other ways as well - always offering a hand when another has questions about the lesson. Fiercely independent with a hunger to always learn more, as well as holding a desire to serve others, she’s a shining example of what it means to Be Like Jesus. So proud and grateful for you, Dylan! Jackson V - Grade 2 Jackson is a quiet worker. He’s focused and likes to get things done. He is a good listener. He demonstrates the Student Learning Expectation Be Like Jesus by exhibiting good behavior inside the classroom and towards his classmates. Pablo C - Grade 1 Pablo shows compassion to everyone he encounters. He is always willing to help others and he always comes to school prepared and ready to learn. He never gives up and is always willing to learn something new. Pablo is consistently displaying our student learning expectation Be Like Jesus and he goes above and beyond to help in any way he can. Zoey A - Kindergarten Zoey demonstrates the student learning expectation Be Like Jesus every day as she prays quietly and with sincerity. She is also kind and caring with her classmates. Zoey also has been trying very hard to complete her work with quality and to remain focused on her tasks throughout the day. Leia K.
