Sixth Grade - Adapting to Middle School
Hillary, Sofia, Mikayla
6th Grade changes big and small, Mrs. Nordman is the best teacher of all. New role models of the school, Means duties and positions for the rule. We have lots of homework, more than enough, But we still do it, even though it’s tough. We love 6th no matter what, And now we’re learning about King Tut. Learning new things is what we seek, With choices and challenges throughout the week. |
Jalen, Jose, Daniel, Erica Going to a new school is very complicated but we are adjusting well. We are adjusting to the new environment. Though we are new in this school, the students here are very welcoming. We are still adjusting to the new teachers; they are there to show us where to go and help us. The students here are kind and nice; they’re spectacular always being open to others. They make us feel comfortable. It can be challenging, but we know that we can get through it if we still have these kind people around us. |
Kelly Jessica Jaylene Samantha Adjusting to Junior High is sometimes challenging, but really fun and awesome. We enjoy having new friends such as Erica, Daniel, Jose, and Jalen. We also enjoy many activities/subjects such as Spanish, Math, Science, Art, Religion, and our new dance teachers Ms. Ariel and Mr. Bradley. We have science with Mr. Calma in the science lab. We enjoy Mr. Calma’s jokes and his way of teaching us. We enjoy the science experiments with our groups. We learn different words, greetings, phrases, and songs. Our class enjoys math with Mrs. Nordman because she’s a very fun teacher and she teaches us the simplest and fun ways of learning. Art is with Mrs. Cordano and so far it is very interesting because we are learning how to make Egyptian crafts. Religion is with Sister Esther in the 5th grade classroom. It is easier to learn because she shows us visual ways to learn. We have new teachers for dance instead of Mrs. Angeles. They’re very fun to dance with and we love our dances and songs. Sometimes we even play awesome games! Our class is very glad we are in Junior High because we have the best teachers in the universe for 6th grade! |

This year we’ve headed to junior high. We all thought it would be tough, but our teacher made it much more simple. In the past, it was much easier, but this year it is challenging and has competition. We have new classmates who are very nice and kind: Jalen, Erica, Daniel, and Jose. Some assignments which are new to us: outlines, science current events, etc. It is important to focus and get good grades in middle school because high schools will look at these grades. This year’s art is mostly about Ancient Civilizations. It is very hard, but we are up to the challenge. The kindergarteners and preschoolers come to our class to practice songs for future masses with the sixth graders. We are excited for the future activities like Outdoor Education in April. This year will be a memorable year for all us. |
Kyle, Arik, Julian Going into junior high was a big change for us. One of our favorite parts of going to junior high was new classmates! One of the biggest changes for us is the responsibilities such as more homework and more tests. We are learning to have good time management so we can do our after school activities. We need to be more responsible about our work, taking books home and turning in homework. This year we have to change our attitude by making good decisions and being more respectful. Over all, we love 6th grade! |
