Seventh Grade News
Sports

This year, students are getting involved in extracurricular activities. For example, the 7th grade girls volleyball season has recently come to an end. Volleyball is fun because it takes great teamwork to maintain the ball without touching the ground. It can be complicated because it involves contact with the ground. Volleyball is also considered a major sport in the world.
In swimming, it is fun to learn different strokes. A type of swimming sport is water polo which is like basketball in a pool. Swimming makes some people feel happy because it gets fun when you get used to the water, and do strokes like freestyle and backstroke. Swimming can make you feel relaxed.
Basketball is a very fun sport, but it is hard to play because you have to focus on the ball. Some people like playing basketball because it is a very exciting and interactive sport.
Golf is a very fun sport to play outdoors. It’s fun because you get to be out in nature and it’s very challenging. The goal of the sport is to get the ball into a hole in the lowest amount of strokes. It can be fun because attempting to beat your previous score can be an awesome goal.
7th Grade Loves Art
By: Taylor-Amanda Domingo, Eric Gonzalez, Francis Flores, and Jeannine Pili
In 7th grade, art is a very fun subject. It shows our inner creativity because we want to show everyone what we can do. We do only have art once a week, but our teacher, Mrs. O’Hara, incorporates art into some of our subjects such as Social Studies and Religion. We do many art contests such as the Peace Poster contest and the Drug Poster Contest. We enter these contests and hope they go onto higher levels to win awards, like money. Some projects that we do are part of Social Studies as well. We made a diorama about Roman or Greek topics. We learned how to draw or make really cool artwork such as Mosaics, designs made of circles and more. We also made masks of real people. Art is not a core subject, but it is still a very fun part of school.
The Great Fiesta
By: Giancarlo Mariano, James Dimacali, Jancrizto Ruidas, and Mateo Rocha
We think the fiesta is one of the most special school activities of the year. It is a wonderful experience to witness. It has amazing food from different ethnic groups available to everyone at the festival. There are also phenomenal dances by classes from preschool to 8th grade. You can also win cool prizes by winning games such as popping balloons with darts, and trying to get a ping pong ball in a cup. You can also go into a bounce house, which is also fun if you go in with your friends. You can play games which are extremely challenging, yet really fun.
Everyone you meet will probably be kind and hospitable. To be honest, the fiesta is amazing because you can hang out with all of your friends and have a good time. You can even take a photo of you and your friends at the photobooth. Unlike the other years, this year the festival was extraordinary due to a fresh burst of creativity.
Seventh Grade Goals
By: Devanie Milleza, Brenda Gonzalez, Vanessa Maniva, and Sherin Jacob
This year, we wish to grow. Our goal is to become more responsible so the younger students can look up to us. We are striving for the best grades we can achieve in order to attend good high schools. We want to make new memories and strengthen our relationships with our classmates before we move on to another chapter of our lives as high schoolers. This year is also about taking risks and stepping outside of our comfort zone to learn new things. Our volleyball team wants to win the championship. To discover more about our faith is our desire too. For example, we look forward to presenting the Stations of the Cross during Lent. As one of the older classes, we wish to flourish in our school community. By integrating creativity and our faith, we can help ourselves grow and thrive.
Goals
By: Vincent Fernandez, Malia Garcia, Tamara Harris, and Joshua Manuel
As seventh graders we want to be good leaders, as well as responsible citizens. This year the four of us want to achieve many goals which include getting on the Honor Roll or Principal’s List. We also want to get good grades, so we can all go to good high schools. For sports, we want to win the basketball and volleyball championships. We also want to be on Student Council so we could lead our school and be role models for younger students. The four of us want to learn new things as well as have fun this year. We want to be able to learn Spanish. We all want to have bright futures, be good role models, make our parents proud, make God proud, and also be proud of ourselves.
Our 7th Grade Year So Far
By: Ayden Bitanga, Noah Soto, and Adam del Rosario
So far as new 7th Graders, we realize that our year will be more challenging than the previous years. We are preparing ourselves for 8th Grade and our future high schools. This year we have had many high school presentations. These presentations give us an idea of what the high school is like. Our new teacher, Mrs. O’Hara, challenges us to do our best work. She wants us to be responsible and independent in everything we do. We get to do a lot of art in our work which lets us express our creativity. We have many projects with beautiful colors surrounding us on our classroom walls. We also get to do a variety of book reports. This allows us to present our own thoughts and understanding in our work. This is what our 7th Grade year is so far.
