The school wide spelling bee was held on Wednesday, January 18 in the parish hall.  Spellers included students from grades 5 through 8.  This year’s participants were Francheska Diokno, Genesisveer Brar, Aiden Restauro, Bayleigh Rodriguez, Isabella Fernandez, Santiago Gallo, Micah Arca, and Jeremiah Parangan.

This year’s group of spellers was confident, focused and well prepared.  Students were strategic in asking specific questions prior to spelling given words.  As a result, the spelling bee lasted 26 exciting rounds!. Seventh grade student, Isabella Fernandez, was declared the winner with her spelling of the word “chemotherapy”.

Congratulations to Isabella and all the spelling bee participants!

He is trying to participate in asking and answering questions. He does seat work independently with quality.

KINDERGARTEN - Gabriel M
Gabriel demonstrates the Student Learning Expectation of Be Responsible Citizens by being a conscientious student so that he can reach mastery of the skills he is learning. Gabriel participates in class discussions and supports his classmates in their learning. Gabriel is helpful in the classroom and demonstrates the qualities of a good citizen.

GRADE 1 - Avery C
Avery is a cheerful, kind and caring student who demonstrates the Student Learning Expectation “ Be Responsible Citizens .” She is a talented student who also happens to be very shy about showing her drawing works. She is well mannered, quietly respectful, driven to do her best and sets a great example for other students.

GRADE 2 - Austin C
Austin is a quiet and respectful student who demonstrates the Student Learning Expectation “Be Responsible Citizens” by taking his work seriously and accepts academic challenges with eagerness that reflect on the quality of his work.

GRADE 3 - Julianne T
Julianne is phenomenal. There have been many times this school year where I have been blown away by her effort in and out of the classroom. From her amazing Saints Project, to her determination to understand all subjects, to sharing her musical talents with us all, and most importantly, to her grace when she or others make a mistake, she is the personification of Be Responsible Citizens. Continue to shine like the star you are, Julianne!

GRADE 4 - Emma B
Emma is a sweet and humble student who demonstrates the SLE, “Be Responsible Citizens," by following school rules and praying and thinking before she acts. She is also serious about her school work and cares about her classmates. She recently did a wonderful job modeling the qualities of a successful Holy Angels student during our Christmas Eve Children’s Mass by helping her brother and other students during the program.

GRADE 5 - Genesisveer B
Genesis works hard to complete her work on time, participates well in class discussion, always with positive attitudes, and gets along with her classmates. She demonstrates the Students Learning Expectation of “Be Responsible Citizens."

GRADE 6 - Amelia V.
Amelia follows directions and school rules, and asks for clarification when necessary. She is also careful when working, whether with a device or not, and keeps her work area neat. She can also be counted on to run an errand or go ask a teacher for something I may need. She really exemplifies Be(ing) a Responsible Citizen.

GRADE 7 - Serene B
This young person strives to Be a Responsible Citizen. In class, she is attentive and focused, and doesn’t hesitate to ask questions if needed. Her work is typically neat and complete. She strives to be an active class participant. She makes an effort to get along well with her peers.

GRADE 8 - Francesca M
Francesca does her very best at all times while completing her academic tasks and responsibilities with quality. She is a regular participant during class discussions, providing her insightful opinions to the topic at hand. She always has a “welcoming smile” while also greeting her teachers when she enters/leaves the classrooms. In addition, she says hello to other students while on campus, throughout the school day. Not only does she follow through as a “Responsible Citizen,” she is an excellent role model and good example, as our Student Body President, for the entire school community.
