Last Friday, September 13th, the whole school gathered together in church for the first school mass of the year. Our new pastor, Father Alex Legazpi, celebrated the mass. After the mass, the student body officers and class representatives were installed and Student Body President, Aja Marie Pineda, gave her inaugural speech.

The faculty and staff were busy before the new school year started. Sixteen faculty and staff members were able to get their CPR and First Aid training during the summer. They were trained by Mrs. Rosanna Gomez-Martin. Sean O'Conner, a firefighter and the emergency coordinator for the Colma Fire Protection District, also spent a day with the staff reviewing, finalizing and practicing the school's emergency plans and procedure. Mrs. Catherine Fuerte, the school's technology coordinator, gave her yearly technology in-service. She talked about mobile learning and shared more tools that can be used to integrate technology in the classroom and in the school office.
Finally, to make sure the school year begins right, the faculty spent a day of prayers. Fr. Phillip Ganir, S.J., facilitated the retreat which focused on "contributing to the evangelizing mission of the church." Back to School Night is Thursday, September 12th, beginning at 7 PM in church. Please arrive on time as we begin promptly at 7 PM. One parent from each family is expected to attend this very important meeting. Babysitting will be available for those parents needing this service. Free Dress for students on Sept. 17 if their parents attend the meeting. Log on to SchoolSpeak for more information.
