Holy Angels School in Colma, is getting their very own super-sized Playhouse. The Science Lab is being donated by a San Mateo remodeler and custom builder S.E.A. Construction Inc, and The Hayes Design Group of Redwood City. The two companies collaborated to design and build the outstanding playhouse for Rebuilding Together Peninsula’s 2011 Dreams Happen Gala Auction which had been held in June. “The Science Lab playhouse is atypical, we believe, because of its high learning component.” Said S.E.A. owner Steven Albert. SACRAMENTO, Calif., Aug. 31, 2011 – The California Fertilizer Foundation will be presenting a $1,200 school garden grant on Monday, Sept. 12, to Holy Angels School. The presentation will take place at the school at 20 Reiner St., Colma. CFF’s Program Director Corrie Pelc will be making the $1,200 presentation at 2:15 PM. Several local dignitaries have been invited to the special event, including state Sen. Leland Yee and Assemblywoman Fiona Ma, who represent the district in which the school belongs. Media outlets also have been invited. Each year the Foundation awards grants to 24 schools that either have existing student gardens or have an interest in creating them. In the second round of grants this year, 12 schools will receive $1,200 each.
